About My D&D Music

My D&D Music is a music library and soundboard built for Dungeon Masters. Save music from across the web, tag it by mood, location, encounter, campaign, or anything else, and find the perfect track when you need it. Play tracks from YouTube and SoundCloud natively in the tool. Spend less time digging through bookmarks and browser tabs, and more time immersing your players.

Why I built My D&D Music

I DM a lot of D&D, and I'm always on the lookout for music that could work in my games. Sometimes it's a video game soundtrack, music from a movie or TV show, an ambient background track, or something random I stumble across on YouTube. I'll hear it and immediately think, "This would be perfect for D&D." But what do I do next?

I can throw it into a YouTube playlist, paste it into my campaign notes, or maintain a spreadsheet of tracks. But as that collection grows, finding the right music at the right time becomes a pain. I've spent too much time at the D&D table clicking through playlists and searching through tabs trying to find the perfect track for a scene. Every time I pause a session to look for the right soundtrack, the table loses momentum and energy.

That's why I built My D&D Music.

One library for your D&D soundtrack

I wanted something really simple: one place to organize all the music I might want to use in a session.

My D&D Music lets you bring together tracks from YouTube, SoundCloud, and other sources into one library. You can create your own tags, organize tracks by things like mood, location, encounter, or campaign, add ratings and notes, and play supported tracks without leaving the app.

If my players suddenly pick a fight, I can filter for Combat. If they get ambushed in a haunted mansion, I can filter to Combat + Creepy. If they decide to spend the next hour drinking at a tavern (as D&D parties tend to do), my Tavern tracks have me covered.

The goal is to take all the great music that DMs find and want to save for their table, and put it into an easy to use web app that keeps the session moving. Less time spent frantically looking up a music track mid-session, more time spent describing the scene.

A free tool for fellow DMs

My D&D Music is a passion project I originally built for my own table and decided to share with other DMs. It's completely free to use and I have no plans to monetize it. I hope it makes your games a little easier to run, and helps immerse your players without losing any momentum.

If you enjoy My D&D Music and want to help support the project, you can donate to the project on Ko-fi. There's no requirement to contribute, but anything you give helps cover the costs of keeping the tool running and gives me an excuse to keep tinkering with it.

Thanks for checking it out, and happy adventuring! If you have any feedback, let me know at mydndmusicapp [at] gmail [dot] com.
